If you are looking to make a little extra cash online, then survey sites are a great way to do that. I’ve been collecting money from survey sites for several years and while it’s not my main source of income, I do get quite a bit of money every month.
What makes a good Survey Site though? I’ve tried some that are almost impossible to make any real money with. And I’ve also come across a few that don’t take up too much of my time, are fairly easy, and payout extremely well.
So in this post, I’ve outlined the 3 Best Online Survey Sites that I use on a daily basis. Stick around til the end and I’ll even throw in a bonus site!
1. Paid Viewpoint
Paid Viewpoint is one of my favorite survey sites because it really is super easy. Most of the surveys are just asking you about yourself. These are called trait surveys.
Some surveys are multiple choice or “check all that apply” style. A few of them are scaled surveys where you are asked to “agree or disagree” with a statement on a sliding scale.
Occasionally there will be more in depth surveys that require you to think about the product shown and give your opinion about certain topics regarding it.
Paid Viewpoint is free to join, like most survey sites are. After sign up, you are asked to fill out your demographics and begin taking Trait Surveys in order to drive your Trait Score higher. The goal is to answer honestly and come back often so that you eventually get a 1000 Trait Score.
The higher your Trait Score, the more surveys you will receive. So it is important at first to work towards driving the score higher.
Most surveys pay around $0.10 each, however occasionally you will get larger surveys that can pay anywhere from $2 – $5. The money adds up quickly and you can cash out once you have reached $15.

As I mentioned before, the key is to come back often as the surveys are only available for a limited time and will disappear if you don’t take them. I try to check the website 3 times a day… first thing in the morning, after lunch, and then again before I close down for the day.

2. Inbox Dollars
Another great survey/task site is Inbox Dollars. This website started out as a pay per email site, but has evolved into surveys, tasks, videos, games, search and more.
Here’s a breakdown of the many different ways to earn money at Inbox Dollars:
- Surveys – Take short or long surveys for various amounts of money
- Offers – Complete offers (usually requires a sign up to something) for cash
- Scratch & Win – Be active within the website and earn a chance to scratch off and win
- Paid Email – Open emails (this can be done on the website) and click on the confirmation to earn $0.02 per email
- TV – Watch TV and earn money.
- Search – Perform regular internet searches
- Deal – Use Coupons when shopping to earn money
- Refer Others – Referring friends to Inbox Dollars earns you money when they earn
The minimum to cash out is $30 which is easily attainable if you visit the site every day. I’ve cashed out several times. Inbox Dollars pays via a check through the USPS or ePayment.
3. Slice The Pie
Slice the Pie is a unique website in that it allows you to do reviews (similar to filling out a short survey) of things like songs, brands, clothing, products, etc.
You can earn anywhere from $0.04 to $0.15 per review. If you spent about an hour a day doing this, you could rack up a lot of extra cash quickly.
When you give your review, be sure to be precise and give as much detail as possible. This is how they rank you and decide how much to pay per review.
If you are into fashion or music, this is a really cool site to use because you can earn money while reviewing things that you are already interested in.
There is also a referral program for Slice The Pie, so if you have friends or family that would be interested in earning money reviewing products, then you can simply give them your unique link and earn even more. These are called “Baby Bonuses” and you basically receive 20% of all their review earnings for 60 days and then 10% after that.

BONUS: UserCrowd
As promised, I have a Bonus website that can make you money super fast. UserCrowd (used to be Usability Hub) is an easy website that links you with surveys (called tests) where you are asked certain questions about your experience interfacing with a landing page or an app.
Basically they are paying you to give design feedback on anything from websites to logos to verbiage.
Some tests will ask you to explain why you clicked on a certain button within the page, while others ask you which logo design you prefer and why.
Simple 2 minute tests like that earn you between $0.10 and $0.50 per test depending on their length and complexity.
Payout is made through PayPal and the payout minimum is only $10 which is quickly achieved if you visit the website often. I choose to keep the site open in one of my tabs so I know when a test is available.
I’ve only been using this site for a month or 2 and I’ve already been able to request payout several times.

The Key to Actually Making Money – Referrals
While all of these survey sites are great for making pocket change, the secret to making real money is to refer others. You double your income even while you are sleeping. In other words, referrals are basically “working for you” even when you are not.
Getting referrals sounds like an easy task, but unless you have a thousand or more friends then you will have a hard time really seeing a true income. That’s why I suggest learning how to drive traffic to sign up pages and boost your referrals.
One way that I gain new referrals is through blog posts like this one, as well as my email distribution list and my YouTube channel. There are marketing and SEO strategies that can be implemented to help grow your referral numbers.
