How to Write a Blog Post Fast

Every once in a while you will find yourself needing to write a blog post fast. Maybe you have a busy schedule that day or possibly you are close to missing a deadline you have set for yourself.

Writing a blog post quickly does not mean that you need to sacrifice quality. If you do it correctly, you can crank out a well written, quality post that is equal to those that take you hours to write.

Decide What You Are Going to Write About

This seems obvious, but sometimes this is the most time-consuming aspect of writing a blog post. In order to cut down on the amount of time you waste figuring out what to write about, simply brainstorm one topic and pick the one that you feel comfortable writing about.

In other words, make sure that the topic that you choose is something that you know a lot about or that you can write a lot about. You don’t want to spend too much time doing research for the topic, so if you are already knowledgeable about it you are ahead of the game.

I like to keep a running list of topic ideas that come to me throughout the week. This way I can simply choose one of them, do a quick 5-minute keyword research to get my main keyword, and then get to writing.

Keep a notebook handy or create the list on your smart phone so that you will be prepared with a topic whenever you find yourself in need of a quick blog post.

Structure Your Blog Post

So now comes the actual writing part. This can go by much quicker if you take a few minutes to structure your blog post first.

I use templates that are pre-loaded into my content editor. I have several that I use, including a product review template and a keyword rich article template.

Structuring you blog post is really just creating a subject outline. So think of the topics/points you want to talk about and put them in the header areas. Try to come up with about 4 to 5 topics.

Once you have them written down, you can start filling in the paragraphs under each topic. Spend about 5-10 minutes per topic and then move on to the next.

This keeps the flow going as well as organizes your thoughts quickly.

  • Title of Blog Post
    • Intro Paragraph
      • Topic #1
        • content goes here (3-4 paragraphs)
      • Topic #2
        • content goes here
      • Topic #3
        • content goes here
      • Topic #4
        • content goes here
      • Conclusion
        • ending paragraphs summing up the article (include call to actions)

Gather Your Images and Links

After you have written out your content, you will need to gather your images and place them within the post. You will want to do this quickly so using a website like Stock Unlimited can be a huge time-saver.

Stock Unlimited is a website that has thousands of photos available for you to use on your website. You put in a search for what kind of image you are looking for and then pick the one you want.

I use Stock Unlimited most of the time, but I will also use the copywrite free images available within Wealthy Affiliate’s SiteContent platform. When I’m in a hurry, both of these options save me a ton of time.

You will also want to grab all of your links if you are promoting an affiliate offer or just want to provide a relevant link within your post.

Create blog banner images and marketing material (Pinterest post, Instagram post images, etc) at this point so you can add them or at least have them ready once you’ve published your blog post. Marketing on social media is a great way to get some traffic to your website. I use Canva.com to create these images.

I like to do these 2 tasks all at the same time. It just makes it goes faster when I’ve already written the content and then just have to go back through and insert images and links. This way, I’m not leaving my writing (disrupting the creative flow) to go find an image.

Utilize the Right Tools

One of the best ways to be quick when you are writing your blog posts is to use tools that help you be more efficient.

I’ve already mentioned the fact that I use Stock Unlimited to find most of my images. But I also use other tools that make the process much smoother, which results in time saved.

Some of the tools that I use are listed below…

Final Thoughts

As I mentioned before, writing blog posts quickly does not mean that you have to sacrifice quality. Having a specific procedure in place will help you make the most use of your time and get things done faster.

Be sure to set a timer and don’t spend too much time on any one aspect of the blog post. This is why keeping a list of possible post ideas is a great idea.

If you start to feel like you are spending too much time in one area, take a step back, regroup, and then wrap it up within 5 minutes or less. Then move on to the next task. This will keep you focused and on task.

How to Buy Targeted Website Traffic

Targeted Traffic
When it comes to knowing how to buy targeted website traffic, the key is finding the right traffic platform. There are a ton of click through website platforms that really don’t translate into convertible traffic. The problem with most platforms is that you don’t have the ability to enter your own keywords that will actually target the traffic.

One incredible traffic platform that I have found is Rebrandable Traffic. It follows same the ad campaign building framework that the big PTC sites do… that is to say Google Adwords and Bing Ads. When creating a Google Adwords campaign, you have to choose keywords for the particular ad and landing page you will be sending your visitors to.

Rebrandable Traffic does the same thing. By researching and choosing the best keywords for your landing page, you will have a much better chance of converting visitors. And that is the main purpose of driving traffic to your website after all.

Join Rebrandable Traffic

The first step is to join the Rebrandable Traffic Platform. It’s free to join and you only have to pay if you choose to purchase a credit package. After you sign up, you are immediately given 100 FREE credits to take the platform for a test drive.

Rebrandable Traffic Sign Up
100 credits translates into exactly 100 visitors. This is plenty enough to get a feel for how the platform works. The next step is to create your first ad campaign.

Add First Campaign

Adding an ad campaign is relatively simple. However, there are a few steps that you will want to pay close attention to if you want real targeted traffic. I created a video walk through of exactly how to ad a campaign to Rebrandable Traffic.

Steps to Creating an Ad Campaign:

  1. Click on “My Campaigns” from the Navigation Menu
  2. Click “Create New Campaign”
  3. Enter a Campaign Name – One that will let you know which campaign it is
  4. Enter the destination URLRebrandable Traffic
  5. Change the “Traffic Origin URL” if desired to your website’s main address
  6. Enter a Campaign Visitor Limit (depending on how many credits you have)
  7. Enter Targeted Keywords (up to 10)
  8. Choose Traffic Types
  9. Click “Save Campaign”

Once you have created the campaign, you will need to “turn it on” in order for it to run. The campaign will automatically stop once it has reached the Campaign Visitor Limit that you set. To turn it back on, simply edit the campaign and change the visitor limit.

Purchase More Credits

Once you have used the 100 Free credits, you have the ability to purchase credit packages. You can buy visitors for as low as $0.0002 per visitor. There are several packages available to fit any budget and they are often on sale.

Rebrandable Traffic Credit Packages
As you can see, the packages range in price and will accommodate any budget. I like to buy the PRO5K (5000 visitor) package and split the credits between several different ad campaigns. The ads that seem to work best are ones where the visitor is taken to a website that is requesting a sign up or email address. I was able to add over 200 members to my email distribution list with one of my most successful campaigns.

Review Traffic Breakdown

One tool that Rebrandable Traffic has is the ability to take a look at the traffic that is clicking on your links. You get to see who the visitor is, when they clicked on your link, how long they stayed, and what other actions/clicks they took. It is called the Traffic Breakdown, and it gives you a ton of information.
Rebrandable Traffic Breakdown
As you can see in the image above, there is a date given as well as the time. Next to that is the IP address of the visitor and then the amount of time (in minutes) that they stayed on my website. The next piece of information is the most valuable as it tells you what else they clicked on. In this case, the visitor clicked on the homepage and then to the upgrade link.

Turn Campaigns Back on When They End

Eventually your campaign will automatically turn off when you have run out of credits (the credit limit that you set for that particular ad campaign). So you may still have credits available, but if you set 100 credit limits for a specific campaign, it will stop running once it hits 100 visitors.
Rebrandable Traffic Campaign
You will need to go in and edit the credit limit in order to be able to turn the campaign back on. If you don’t have any more credits to use, you will simply need to purchase more. I always try to wait til they are on sale to save a little bit more money. They go on sale pretty often, so this isn’t hard to do.

Rebrandable Traffic

Conclusion

Buying traffic is a great way to get more exposure to your website, especially if it is affordable like Rebrandable Traffic. As I stated earlier, however, it is important to set up your campaigns correctly with the appropriate keywords so that you have a much better chance of conversions.

I personally like Rebrandable Traffic and use it quite often to test out some of my landing pages and opt in forms. Once they are running smoothly and I’ve pinpointed which keywords are working the best, I usually transfer that campaign over to Bing Ads or Google Adwords. What I like about this method, is that I don’t waste a ton of money when I’m starting a new campaign. Find out what works best, and then duplicate it on the bigger platforms.

How To Get More Traffic For Your Website – Top 5 Ways

How to get more traffic for your website

Getting a ton of traffic to your website is the key to success. If no one ever visits your site, you will never make any money. It’s just math.

In this article, I’m going to discuss how to get more traffic for your website… the Top 5 Ways that I find useful. There are of course dozens of ways to drive traffic, but I just wanted to keep it simple and list a few that you may not have thought of using.

1. IBO Toolbox A Place to Network & Drop Article Links

There is a network/community that I like to interact with at a website called IBO Toolbox. There you can associate with other members and even send them private messages. There are rules regarding what you can send of course, because nobody likes spam… but you can engage with other members and create meaningful networks with others.

IBO Toolbox also has a great ads center where you can place ads to your business opportunities or websites and generate traffic that way.

IBO Toolbox Ad Center

I usually have about 2 or 3 ads running on IBO and I get pretty decent traffic as a result. Ads are free if you are utilizing their Credit system. You get credits several different ways including for logging in every day as well as 100 credits weekly every Sunday by taking a look at their newsletter. You can also pay for credit packages if you have a budget for that kind of thing. I personally like the free credits though.

Another great tool I find useful within IBO Toolbox is their dashboard wall, where you can put links to your recent articles. After I have written a blog post, I always head over to IBO and write a small post on the dashboard wall for others to see and hopefully get a few visitors from.  Here’s an example:

IBO Toolbox Dashboard Wall
These are just a few of the networking opportunities that IBO Toolbox has available. There are a ton more including things like a video area, where you can place links to any YouTube or other videos you have created…. as well as an article writing platform.  Below is a link to my profile.

2. Rebrandable TrafficCheap and Targeted

Rebrandable Traffic is another great traffic source. Here you have the ability to set up Ad Campaigns and enter in your own targeted keywords.

As long as you concentrate on the best keywords for your website link, the traffic generated is typically targeted and of good quality. The thing that you don’t want to do is set up a generic campaign with no real target keyword market.

This traffic actually costs money, however it is extremely affordable and only costs pennies as opposed to dollars. You can buy a 1000 visitor package for only $8 ($6 when they are on sale).

Rebrandable Traffic

3. Leveraging GoogleGoogle Plus & Search Console

One of the first things that I do after I finish creating a new blog post is post it on Google Plus. There are two main reasons why I do this… First, Google Plus is a great platform for posting links like that (better than Facebook or Twitter if you ask me), and Second, Google really likes it when you do this.

Think about it, getting ranked in Google will surely bring you more traffic, so why not post on one of Google’s very own platforms.

Google Search Console (formerly referred to as Webmaster Tools) is also a critical stop for me as soon as I post a new blog. After hitting publish on my website, I simply go to Google Search Console and ask Google to fetch my post. This basically just speeds up the indexing process.

How to Add a Page to the Fetch As Google Tool

4. SEO StrategyUsing Proper Techniques

Believe it or not, proper SEO strategy can be one of the best ways to get more traffic to your website. There are simple things that you should be doing when constructing your posts.

  • Meta Tags – Be sure to add Meta Tags to ALL your posts. This should include a Meta Title, Meta Description, and Keywords. Ideally your main keyword should be included either in the Title or Description (or both).
  • Video – Including a video on your posts if possible is also a great SEO strategy. If you don’t make your own videos, you can simply use one that compliments your post from YouTube.
  • Image – Images are always good to have within your content, because most people enjoy reading something with some imagery or pictures. But Google likes this too. Try to place a relevant image somewhere above the fold of your post.
  • Alt Tags – Always remember to use the Alt Tag of your images to add a little more SEO juice to the mix. Use your main keyword, or a tag that makes sense for the image.
  • Keywords – Your main keyword that you are targeting should be within the Title as well as the first paragraph.

There are a lot more SEO strategies you can implement, but these that I’ve just mentioned should ALWAYS be a part of your content creation routine.

5. Get More Comments – Website Engagement

The 5th way I like to get more traffic is by site engagement with comments. This is literally one of my favorite ways to get traffic. Once again, Google loves this and as a result you will see better website ranking and that means more traffic.

At the end of every blog post I try to ask visitors to leave a comment, especially if they have a question about something. This gives me insight into how my post is coming across (reading) to others. I can take that information and use it on future posts or even revise the current one so that it adds clarity if needed.

My favorite place to get comments is through the Wealthy Affiliate Site Comments platform. Wealthy Affiliate is where I get all of my training and tools for building websites. It’s a great place to start if you are a beginner because they have made it so simple and easy to follow along. And they have a ton of great tools that will explode your business and potential profit.

One of these tools is Site Comments. With Site comments, you can request comments from other Wealthy Affiliate members. You can get credits for comments by leaving a comment on another members post. It’s a give take type of system that really works.

Conclusion

If you own a website and plan to make money with it, you know the importance of traffic. Using some (or all) of these traffic strategies could really help give your website the boost it needs to become profitable. This is not an exhaustive list by any means, but these 5 strategies do work and I recommend them to anyone looking to stay competitive in the online business space.

How to Backup a WordPress Site

How to Backup a WordPress Site

If you have a WordPress website, you will want to backup the data from that site in case you ever need it. This is something that I try to do every week. Backing up a WordPress website is actually very simple and can be done in a matter of seconds. It is also relatively easy to recover a website if you should need to do so.

Why Backup Your WordPress Site?

There are several reasons why you should perform regular backups of your site. It is similar to the way you should always save the work you are doing in a word document or a spreadsheet. If you make a major change to your website and it either doesn’t work great afterwards or if you actually end up breaking your site, you can easily recover a previous version and save yourself a lot of trouble.

Here are a few reason why you should backup your website:How to Backup a WordPress Site

1. Uploading/changing the theme

2. Change or add significant code to the editor

3. Adding new plugins (especially if you are unfamiliar with them)

4. You have written a lot of new content/posts and don’t want to accidentally lose it.

Since it literally only takes a few seconds to backup, you should really be doing this every week. I personally do this every Monday. This just works with my particular schedule, but you can choose whichever day works best for you. I like to actually pick a specific day of the week to do this, because if I don’t then before I know it I’ve gone months without backing anything up. We all have good intentions of doing something, but unless you put it on your schedule there’s a good chance it will get forgotten about.

How to Backup a WordPress Site

How to backup a wordpress site

As I’ve already said, this process is so simple and quick… there really is no excuse not to do this on a regular basis. Give yourself some peace of mind and leave room to worry about other things.

First you will want to log into your WordPress site… obviously. Next click on “Tools” and then “Export”. Once on the Export page, you will see a few options where you can choose what to export. I always choose to export “All Content”. Make sure that button is clicked and then click “Download Export File”. Click Save when prompted.

The downloaded file will go to wherever your computer sends your downloads. In my case, mine are sent to “downloads.” Some people have their downloads sent to their desktop. Whatever the case may be, you will need to find the file and then move it to a “backup” file folder. I have a backup folder set up for each of my websites, since I have more than one.

How to Import/Recover a WordPress Site

So now you have a backup, but how do you recover a website if you ever need to? There are a few more steps but it’s really just as simple.

1. First you want to go to “Tools” and then “Import.”

2. When the Import screen comes up, scroll to the bottom and choose “Install Now” under WordPress.

How to backup a wordpress site

3. After installing the WordPress Importer, click “Run Importer”

4. Choose the backup file by clicking the “choose file” button and finding it within your computer files

5. Click “upload file and import” button

That’s how simple it is. Like I said there are a few more steps to the Import, but it’s really not that difficult. One thing to note is that when you import, some of your settings may need to be tweaked. For instance, your top menu may have extra pages on it (especially if you have excluded them in the past). But for the most part, your website will be back up and running… and more importantly, all that content you spent hours and hours writing will be back!!!

Generating Passive Income

Featured

– What is Passive Income –

As the job market gets tougher and tougher to enter, many people are trying to find a way to create passive income online. But what exactly is Passive Income?

Create Passive Income Online

Passive Income is income that is generated after the work has already been done…..  It is sometimes referred to as residual income and in some cases is also recurring.

While money comes in regardless if any work is being done at the moment, the fact is that in order to begin creating passive income, one must put in the time and work ahead of time.  Think of it like this:

Active = work and time (this ALWAYS comes first)

Passive = Income (this is the result of the time and work)

After getting a business set up and running, the income will continue to flow in without more work needing to be done.  Although it is always a good idea to keep working at your business and finding other sources of passive income to tap into.  That way if one of the sources dries up, you will have others to rely on.

Recently I went through the historic flooding in Houston after Hurricane Harvey came to Texas.  While I was attempting to keep water out of my house and was without power for a while, my online business was continuing to work for me.  I actually made $98 one day during the storm.  That is the essence of passive income.

– Finding Sources of Passive Income –

Overall, the best sources of passive income are affiliate programs. Getting into the affiliate marketing business is the easiest way to get started. There are a ton of affiliate programs out there in almost every niche (product category) imaginable.

I’ve listed some common sources of passive income below:

1.Survey Site Referrals – Getting a ton of referrals at a site like PaidViewpoint.com will generate passive income.  Your referrals will continue to make you money even when you are not online. The site makes it easy to earn money by completing simple, quick surveys… so getting referrals is a breeze.

2. Affiliate Program Referrals – If you are a member of Wealthy Affiliate, you can get passive income recurring every month from anyone that signs up under you. That’s $23/month per referral. Programs like Avantlink also have a great referral program.

3. Selling Affiliate Products – Creating a website that has product reviews with affiliate links is a great way to make passive income.  Once you have put in the work and built out your site, traffic will continue to roll in and you will make commissions from any sales.

– My Favorite Source of Passive Income –

Click the Banner below to set up your free account and get started creating passive income online.  This is my favorite source because it literally teaches you STEP by STEP how to create your business and become successful.

The creators of this incredible educational program set you up for success. They have designed a training program that not only teaches you everything you need to know, it also allows you to earn money while learning. How to Avoid Online Scams – Top 5 Things to Look For

How to Avoid Online ScamsIf you have been searching for a way to make money online, odds are you have run into a scam or two. I know I have. It’s extremely frustrating and sometimes a big waste of money.  No one likes to be scammed and most of us are trusting people who can find ourselves at the mercy of fancy promises and shiny objects.

How to Avoid Online Scams

Avoiding scams is not as easy as it sounds. They are scams for a reason. There is usually no huge sign saying “THIS IS A SCAM – BEWARE.”  But if you know what to look for (small red flags), you can successfully avoid most scams out there.

Top 5 Things to Look For

1.   No Contact Information on Website – If there is no way to get a hold of the creator/owner of a program or product, that is usually a big red flag.  On the same token, if they have customer support but you never get a response, then that is essentially the same as “not having a way to contact” the company. How to Avoid Online Scams

2.  Tons of Upsells – If you purchase the product and then are immediately slammed with an upsell, you are probably in for a bunch more.  Low ticket items ($8 or less) tend to “get you in the door” and once inside, you are constantly being sold on additional products.

3.  A Money Back Guarantee – While a money back guarantee is reassuring at times, I personally prefer the “try it before you buy it” approach.  When you buy a new car for instance, you get to test drive it before you buy…. check out all the features and flaws.  If a company is OVERLY offering a guarantee (meaning they keep shoving it in your face in order to convince you to buy), they might just be hiding the fact that their product is pure junk.  And usually they are right. How to Avoid Online Scams

4.  Outrageous Claims of Success (usually with little effort involved) – Get rich quick schemes have always employed this method of attracting customers…  Promising HUGE earnings OVERNIGHT with little to no effort.  Most people can see right passed these scams, but others get sucked in by the shiny object in front of them.

5.  A Long Video Sales Page that never really gets to the point – We’ve all landed on a sales page that has a video playing on it.  Sometimes we’ll stick around thinking this could be the miracle product How to Avoid Online Scamswe’ve been looking for.  But 25 minutes into the video, we still have no new information and are starting to get annoyed.  If the product they are selling is really that great, they would be eager to introduce it right away, knowing that the product could speak for itself. If they have to convince you before you even know what the product is, it’s likely a scam.

Top 5 Things That Tell You It’s LEGIT (not a scam)

How to Avoid Online Scams

Now that we’ve covered what to look for to AVOID scams, let’s try to find the Legitimate products out there that can really deliver on what they promise.

1.  A “Try it Before You Buy It” Option – If a company has a Free Trial that is truly free (meaning you don’t have to give them a credit card for when the trial period runs out), then they are likely a legitimate company.  One of my favorite programs that offers a free membership option is Wealthy Affiliate.  You can take it for a test drive and see if it’s a good fit for you.

2. Training and Support – I emphasize this all the time, that getting the proper training and having expert support is the key to success for any online business.  If there is a community of members or an online support team available, then you can be assured that the program is legitimate.

3. Access to the Owners/Creators – This is HUGE… if a creator of a product or program is not accessible, then they must not believe in their product. But if they are available and willing to help those who ask, then you are getting the advice and training from the source itself… what could be better.

4. A Spam Free Environment – If a program has a strict “no spamming” policy, you can be assured that they are serious about people learning and being successful.  No one likes being spammed constantly.

5. Constantly Providing NEW UP-TO-DATE Training – The Internet and online marketing is constantly evolving and if you plan on making money online, you have to be ahead of the game and the competition.  Programs that offer up-to-date training and features are going to be the ones that make you money for a long time to come.  Those that don’t update will soon become irrelevant and stale.

Legit vs Scams – A Comparison

Below is a Table comparing two different programs…. A legitimate training program (Wealthy Affiliate) vs. a known scam (Pure Leverage).  When you are trying to determine if something is legit or a scam you can ask these questions and see how many “yeses” it gets.

How to Hide Your Affiliate Links – The Best Cloaking Tools

What is Cloaking?cloaking affiliate links

Cloaking is essentially hiding the target URL from the person clicking on the link (redirection of a long URL).  When someone hovers over a link, the URL is usually shown in the bottom left hand side of the screen.  Sometimes these affiliate links can be quiet long especially if there are tracking id’s attached.  In order to clean up the look of these links, many affiliate marketers use programs or plugins to cloak the links.

In other words, by shortening links users can make links more shareable, manage and track links, and cloak affiliate links. This provides a much better experience for their visitors.

Reasons To Hide/Cloak Links?

There are several reasons to cloak links that are either on your own website or are placed on other sites like Pinterest or Twitter. I’ve listed a few reasons below:

  • To disguise links because some sites block affiliate links, like Pinterest.
  • In order to make links appear cleaner and shorter
  • To prevent commission hacking or affiliate theft
  • To help with tracking
  • So the links don’t appear like affiliate links to visitors, search engines and other website

Programs Used to Cloak or Shorten Links

Below is a very short list of the different programs you could use to cloak links. There are many, many more out there. But I tend to like these as they are relatively easy to use and best of all – FREE!

  • Bitly – Bitly.com is a great URL shortener and Link Management Platform, because it is web-based and you can easily see all of your shortened links in one place.  They provide statistics for each shortened link as well which is a very helpful tool. Also, you can add your own slug to the end of the link that will not only look better but also allow you to keep track of it easier.
  • Google URL Shortener – https://goo.gl/  Google has it’s own URL shortener that is pretty much the same as Bitly.  However, you cannot add your own slug to the end of it.  Google assigns the shortened link at random.
  • Pretty Link – Pretty Link is a WordPress Plugin that allows you cloaking affiliate linksto add a slug to the end of your website link.  For instance: www.mywebsitename.com/click.  In this example, “click” would be the slug that you can customize to whatever you want that will help you organize your links.
  • Tiny URL – Just like the name implies, it takes a long URL and makes it Tiny.  This platform has link editing, click statistics, QR codes, and Custom Domains.

Examples of Cloaked Links

A link shortening service would take an ugly, long link like:

It would then shorten it to something much more pleasant, such as:

Final Thoughts

If you have a need to either shorten links or to actually cloak affiliate links, knowing how to do so will definitely help.  I personally use a variety of these shortening and cloaking tools to streamline my business and keep things nice and pretty.  The last thing I want is to have someone steal my affiliate link, so taking these simple precautions gives me that added sense of security.

How to Sell Affiliate Products Online

One of the easiest ways to make money selling online is to promote other people’s products.  This allows you to generate a profit without having to have your own product or service to sell.  Most of us don’t have the time or the resources to build widgets in our garage and attempt to sell them to customers.  But by selling affiliate products, you skip that step altogether.

If you already have a website, then you are way ahead of the How to Sell Affiliate Products Onlinegame.  Website and blogs are the absolute best place to begin selling affiliate products. You simply place links or banners on your site and when someone clicks on the link, they are taken to the affiliate’s site.  You get a commission for the sale.

If you don’t have a website, but want one… then keep reading because I have a very special offer just for you!

Finding Affiliate Products to Sell

  • Individual Companies – There are thousands of companies in all sorts of markets that have affiliate programs. Take Walmart for example… they have an affiliate program that you can sign up for and start making money when you refer customers to them. How to Sell Affiliate Products Online

Target also has an affiliate program that offers a very nice progressive commission structure… meaning the more sales you make, the higher your commission percentage increases.

Another great Affiliate Program is Amazon.com.  As you probably know, you can find ANYTHING on Amazon and most people trust it, so when you send a customer to Amazon (via your affiliate link), they are most likely going to purchase something.  The beauty of Amazon is that even if they don’t buy the particular product you were linking them to, you still get a commission on whatever they might choose to buy.

For instance, you might have a link to a sleeping bag on Amazon.  A customer comes to your site and clicks on the link, however they begin looking around and decide to purchase a different sleeping bag along with some hiking boots.  Guess what, you get the credit for BOTH products!

Most of these companies are easy to sign up for and you can start promoting their products as soon as you are approved.

  • Affiliate Networks – A lot of companies will partner with an affiliate network for their particular affiliate program.  So places like Avantlink, Share a Sale, and CJ host hundreds of affiliate programs that you can choose from.  Most people like the networks because then all of their programs are in one place.  I personally like Avantlink for my camping website… they have a ton of outdoor related companies that I can promote.
  • ClickBank – If you are interested in promoting mostly digital products, Clickbank is the best affiliate program.  They have a huge listing of ebooks and other digital products.  Most of these even have landing/squeeze pages that you can utilize.

Grabbing The Affiliate Link

After you have signed up with a few affiliate programs and you know what you want to sell online, you need to incorporate that onto your website.  You do this by grabbing the affiliate link or the html code for the product you want to promote.  Most affiliate programs make this pretty easy to do.  A simple copy and paste procedure and you are done. You can even add tracking id’s to the links if you want to pinpoint exactly where each click is coming from.

Below is an example of the affiliate link that will be generated specifically for you.  Just highlight and copy the link… past within your blog text or attach to an image.

Insert Link Into Website

Deciding where you want to put the link is the next step.  You have several choices when it comes to your website… you may want it in the body of a post or a stand alone banner on a page or you may want it to appear in the side column of your website. How to sell affiliate products online

  • Side Widgets – If you are trying to showcase the product or company, you can add it to a side widget so that it shows up on every page.  Simply do this by grabbing the html code for the size banner you want and paste it into your widget area.

  • Banners –  If you have a page or a post that needs some images, you might want to use a banner to promote a particular item or company.  This is accomplished by once again grabbing the html code and then placing it within your page.  I have recorded a very simple, very quick video on how to do this… you can check it out below.

  • Simple Text Link – It has been proven that text links actually convert far better than banners or images in general.  This is usually because you can include a “call to action” when you insert a text link.  In order to add a text link, highlight the text you want to become a link and insert the actual affiliate link that was provided for you.

Collect Your Commissions – It’s Time to Get Paid

Once you have made a few sales, the affiliate How to sell affiliate products onlineprograms give you a commission.  The percentage varies from program to program.  But most of them are anywhere from 6% to 20%.  One of my favorite affiliate programs to promote is actually 50% and it’s recurring monthly. Check it out here if you are interested

Most affiliate programs have a minimum that you must earn before you can request payment.  And they payout in different ways too.  Some of them use PayPal, some use direct deposit into your bank, and some will send you an actual check.  But in most cases you can pick which payment method you want and what works best for you.How to sell affiliate products online

Other Ways to Sell Affiliate Products without a Website

While having a website is certainly the easiest and most profitable way to sell affiliate products, there are other ways to get your links out there.  I’ve listed a few below and I’ll be covering these particular methods in later posts, so be sure to stay tuned.

  • Pinterest – Although gaining popularity, Pinterest does block you if you put direct affiliate links on it, so you usually have to cloak the links using programs like bitly or tinyurl.
  • Social Media – Facebook Ads, Twitter, and Instagram are great places to place affiliate links.
  • Email Marketing – If you have built a list of potential customers, then shooting them an email promoting a sale or a great deal on a product is the perfect way to reach people and get paid.
