If you create videos for YouTube or for your website, you have the opportunity to also post them to IBO. This just gets even more exposure for you and can easily lead to more subscribers and views.

Within your profile area, there is a place for video posting. Anyone who visits your profile can click on any of the videos you have added and view it right from the IBO platform.

The Best Online Organization Tool – Task Managment

The Best Online Organization Tool

One of the best online organization tools available is called Trello. I found this gem of a program about 1 year ago and it has changed my life.

Trello is not only free, but it allows you to work more effectively and get more done. And whether you work alone or have a team, you can customize and add people as needed. There is also a paid version for those people who need even more organization. But the free version is incredible.

Why organization is so important….

I want to talk a little bit about why it’s important to be organized within your business. If you own an online business or work from home, being organized and knowing what you need to accomplish at any given time is essential to growing and strengthening you business.

Deadlines sneak up on all of us, but if you have a system in place where you can easily keep track of all the balls you have up in the air, you are likely to get them completed.

I used to live by sticky notes… I had them covering my desk and my laptop screen. Now I use Trello and not only does my workplace look so much better and professional, I am actually getting more stuff done and most importantly staying much more focused.

Let’s take a closer look at all the Trello has to offer!

My Review: Trello

As I mentioned before, I started using Trello to organize my business and it has been a life-saver. I can keep up with all the projects that I am currently working on as well as plan out future ones as I think of them.

I also really enjoy checking things off my “to-do” list because it makes me feel accomplished. I’ve always been this way and am even one of those people who makes lists when they are packing for a vacation, etc.

The best thing about Trello is that if you have multiple businesses or just want to keep business and home separate, you can create different “boards” to differentiate. I’ll touch on this more later.

Also, I don’t currently have a “team” but the fact that you can add team members to certain projects or boards is a great feature of Trello. I know that a lot of people use teams and this helps everyone collaborate efficiently.

Features of Trello – The Ins and Outs of Organization

Trello has many useful features for both startups and multi-level organizations. So no matter what kind of business you are running, you can really get a lot of use out of the program.

  • Take notes for each project
  • Add comments and attachments to Cards

Basic Overview

So to use Trello, you first want to create a Board. This is where all your projects will be located. Projects are called “Cards” and you can customize them as needed.

For instance, I have 4 main Boards. 2 work related (my business and my husbands business), 1 Home related, and 1 generalized To Do List.

Trello BoardsAs you can see, I was able to add different background images to each board to help differentiate between them.

Within each board, I have Cards (or projects). These cards are organized by “To Do,” “Doing”, and “Done.” I also have a “Follow Up” on some of my Boards. This reminds me to check up on the status of something after it has technically been completed.

You can name these categories anything you want. So instead of “To Do” you could have “November Projects” or whatever you want to do. That’s the beauty of this tool, you can create your own organization.

Trello Task list

Each card can be opened up and you can assign a due date or add a checklist to it. In my Home Board, I have a list of bills that need to be paid in a checklist and as I get them paid, I simply check them off. It keeps me knowing which ones are still outstanding. That way I don’t accidentally miss one.

You can also create labels for each card. I use this mostly to flag those projects that are “Urgent.” That way they stand out more and I can devote more attention to them on a daily basis.

Examples of How I Use Trello to Stay Organized

So I use Trello every single day in order to stay organized and to set up my daily tasks. First thing in the morning, I open up Trello and look to see if there are any urgent projects that need my attention.

Then I plan out what I need to do that day within my internet business, my husband’s business, and my home. I spend about half an hour creating projects and setting deadlines or priorities to each.

After that is all done, I get to work. While I’m working on a project, I actually move it to the “Doing” pile. I know that may seem unnecessary, but it helps me stay on that task and not get distracted. I also have the specific card open so I can make any necessary notes as I’m working.

As I complete each project, I move them to the “Done” pile. This clears out my To Do category and gives me a clearer picture of what still needs to be done.

Trello is technically FREE. And personally this is the package that I would recommend to most people. However if you have a huge team or are a Fortune 500 company, then you might want to go with one of the paid packages.

Whether you like to be organized as a general way of life or you just need to keep things in order, Trello is a great tool to have in your virtual toolbox.

I believe in equipping yourself with tools that make work and life easier and Trello does just that. And you can’t beat FREE.

One more thing that makes Trello amazing is that it is a web-based program, so there is no downloading or taking up valuable hard drive space. Plus you can log into it from anywhere.

My Favorite Blogging Tools for 2018

Best Blogging Tools

As an Affiliate Marketer and an Online Blogger, I am always on the look-out for the best blogging tools. These are often organizational tools as well as general hardware that makes my life easier when I’m working.

I find that utilizing tools within my business only makes it stronger and more efficient. There are a certain few that are absolutely necessary (like a hosting platform for instance) and others that are just nice to have (organizational software).

I’ve included a few of my favorite blogging tools in this article, however there are many more available. These are just a few of the ones that I use on a daily basis.


Storage – External Hard Drive


An external hard drive is a lifesaver in my business. Obviously the need to back up your website is extremely important especially because months of work can be lost if you fail to do so.

But the use of an external hard drive is more than just backing up your data. It’s useful for storing content ideas, photos, graphics, videos, and more. Basically everything that you accumulate in order to put your website or blog posts together.

I use 2 main computers… a powerful (heavy) gaming laptop and a smaller (lightweight) travel laptop. Having an external hard drive allows me to store all my content images and videos and easily use them between laptops.


The reason I like an external hard drive over a “cloud” backup system is because I am in control of the hard drive. I’ve always been skeptical of the “cloud.” Also, I can use the hard drive even when I don’t have an internet connection.


The storage device I like to use is the Seagate Backup Plus Ultra Slim Portable. It has 2TB of storage space for under $100. It is also very sleek and lightweight. It can even fit in your pocket.



Website Hosting – Wealthy Affiliate Platform


Having a good hosting platform is equivalent to having a good foundation for your house. The house NEEDS to have a foundation and it needs to be structured properly.

My favorite hosting platform by far is found at Wealthy Affiliate. I started using it in 2013 and I absolutely LOVE IT! The owners of Wealthy Affiliate are constantly improving the hosting platform, making it more powerful, secure and user-friendly.

Website Builder – WordPress & SiteRubix


The next blogging tool that is essential to my business is a Website Builder. I personally use the WordPress website builder that is integrated into the Wealthy Affiliate Platform (called SiteRubix). This just makes life easier and keeps everything in one place for me.

The WordPress builder is easy to use and easy to update. They have hundreds of stunning themes to choose from to make your website beautiful. As well as thousands of plug-ins to help you make your site work for you and your needs.

While you can use WordPress outside of the Wealthy Affiliate Platform, I personally like to access and edit my websites from WA. I consider it my “back office” and it really is an All-In-One Platform. Keeping everything in one spot helps me stay organized and focused.



Microphone – For Creating Videos


I’ve recently gotten into creating videos along with my blog posts. YouTube is basically a search engine all to itself and utilizing its reach has helped me generate tons of traffic and conversions.

In order to create these videos, I need a few basic things, including a microphone. Now, my laptop has a built-in microphone, but its not the best at picking up quality sound. I used it for a while, but I highly recommend investing in an external microphone. You will sound more professional and most of them aren’t that expensive.

I am very fond of The Yeti Snowball by Blue Microphones. The setup is super easy…. just plug in the USB and you’re good to go. There are no drivers or software to install.

It comes with an adjustable tripod stand and is perfect for voice-overs, podcasts, or commentaries.



Another great video tool that I use is Screencast-o-matic. I use this to record video of my computer screen. Most of my videos are tutorial style so this works perfectly as I can show viewers step by step what I am doing.

Best Blogging Tools

There is a free version which allows you to record the screen or webcam along with a few other features. And there is also the Deluxe version which gives you a lot more (including editing tools) and only costs $1.50/month. And for $4/month you can get the Premium version.

I use the Deluxe version and it is perfect for what I need.


Autoresponder – Get Response


Best Blogging Tools

The key to growing your business is to build a list. You’ve probably heard that before and its true. Check out my recent article about why you need an email list if you want to have a growing sustainable business online.

If you plan on building an email list, you WILL NEED an Autoresponder to handle it. An Autoresponder is basically a set of email messages that you set up beforehand and are sent out to your email list at designated times.

The Autoresponder that I use is called GetResponse. It features landing pages, opt-in forms, templates, webinars and more. GetResponse is incredibly easy to use and even has tutorials to help you navigate and get the most out of the tool.

There are several pricing points to choose from and they even discount if you pay for a full year or 2 years. I recommend investing in an autoresponder instead of going with the Free trial option. You get more features and you also have the ability to have a bigger list size.



Task Lists – Trello


Being organized and creating daily to-do lists is one thing that keeps me on track and focused on my goals. One great blogging tool that helps with this is called Trello.

Trello is a website where you can create different task lists and check them off as you go. You can even collaborate with other people by inviting them to your “board”.





I am constantly working off of lists and I find that I get a lot of satisfaction out of checking things off the list, so Trello is a great tool for me. It keeps me on track and lets me see everything I need to get done all in one space.

It’s free to join and since its web-based, you can log in from anywhere and add to your list or check out your tasks for the day.


Final Thoughts

Having the right tools to help you succeed is not only helpful, but a smart decision. I like to think of my tools as “helping hands” that support me as I build out my business.

Getting things done securely and efficiently are my number one goals. I am the sole owner of my business and I can use all the help I can get.

What is an Email Distribution List and Why You Need One

What is an email distribution list

An email distribution list is a compiled list of emails from leads that have opted in to an offer. Within the world of Affiliate Marketing, an email list is an important tool that can be used to keep in touch with potential and past customers.

While an email list is not required for an Affiliate campaign to be successful, it is something that will definitely add value and help in growing your affiliate business.

Let’s take a deeper look at what an email distribution list is and why you need one.

What is an Email Distribution List?

As mentioned above, an email distribution list is just what it sounds like… a list of emails. But it’s more than just that. It is a list of potential customers and warm traffic.

When I say “warm traffic,” I am referring to traffic that is more likely to convert. It consists of people who are actively searching for your product or for information regarding your product.

Traffic comes to your website and upon seeing your offer, they choose to opt in to your email list. You have now captured a lead that you can send targeted emails to in the future. This is important because it translates to “return customers.”

In other words, you now have the ability to communicate with those leads without them having to return to your website.

Opt In Forms – Build Your List

So how does a visitor to your website or landing page become a lead within your email list? This is accomplished through an “Opt-In Form”.

Within a blog post or page, you can embed an opt-in form and offer something in return for the visitor’s email address. Below is an example of an Opt-In Form.

Autoresponders – Stay in Contact with Your List at Any Time

After the initial email is collected and the free gift has been sent, the owner of the email list can then send periodic emails to the list about product launches or new blog posts or other value added content.

The process can be automated through the use of an Autoresponder. Emails are created ahead of time and dripped out slowly to the list at predetermined times.

So if you have 1000 email contacts in your list, the autoresponder automatically sends them the next email in the sequence (that you have created) based on when they signed up. You spend a few hours up front creating the sequence and then the autoresponder takes care of it from there, leaving you free to drink latte’s or chill by the pool. Set it and Forget it!

I highly recommend getting an Autoresponder if you are thinking about starting Email Marketing. It makes life alot easier and literally automates your sales/campaigns.

Creating an Article or Template

SiteContentTo get started writing, you simply choose whether you want to start with a blank document or use a template. SiteContent comes with 3-4 templates preloaded. These include a Privacy Policy page, Affiliate Disclosure, About Me, and Keyword Rich Document. You can use these and modify them as needed.

Or you can start with a blank document. Of course you can always make any document into a template. So if you finish writing an article and think you might want to use that basic structure again, you can make it into a template for the future.

Within the editor, you have the ability to use different Headings, font features like bold and italics, and align your text. You can also attach links to your text. These links can either be an outside URL or a link to one of your existing website articles.

There is also the bullet feature, where you can create a bullet list in either an ordered or unordered format. You can also indent or outdent to create sub points within either format (as shown below).

There are some cases where you might want to ignore the word. For instance, a proper name or a word that the checker just doesn’t recognize. In today’s modern world, a lot of the words society uses tend to be slang or acronyms and the spelling checker doesn’t always know that. But you can simply ignore the word, and the checker moves on to the next error.

The Spelling and Grammar checker is a real lifesaver for me because it allows me to write my content much faster without having to constantly double check my spelling and sentences. That used to slow me down quite a bit, but now I just write away and then before publishing I let the SiteContent grammar checker do all the work.

Publish Your Article Directly to Your Site
